Ajay Devgn's 'Tanhaji-The Unsung Warrior' opens well than Deepika Padukone's 'Chhapaak' at the box office, details inside

Two most ambitious projects of 2020 were released on the same date and saw a clash at the box office. Deepika Padukone's 'Chhapaak' and Ajay Devgn's 'Tanhaji-The Unsung Warrior' are released finally and the film's first-day business is also out today.

Accordingly, 'Chhapaak' that deals with a very sensitive issue of acid attack earned Rs. 4.25 crore nett while historical drama, 'Tanhaji' revolves around a 
Maratha
 Warrior Tanhaji and its bravery cashed Rs 14.50 crore on its first day. As per a report in

, though 'Tanhaji' did better than 'Chhapaak', the release of 'Chhapaak' has affected 'Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior' across the country outside Maharashtra as the film has that regional feel so it does not have that traction in a Punjab or Bengal compared to a Maharashtra and when there is another film then the collections go even lower in these places. Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior has done around 50% of its business in Mumbai circuit which includes Gujarat / Saurashtra.
